Car-Free Day Ride

Friday, September 23rd, 2005

Crew: Stephen Horcha, Tim Faught, Rushelle, Mae, Primo, Julio Garcia, Kevin, ???, Andrew, Leah, Rusty Brown, ???,

Car Free Savannah, the sponsor of the Oxygen Fueled Car, decided to celebrate International Car Free Day with a bike ride and walk around the Downtown area on Friday afternoon. This was the first day the O2FC was revieled to the city, and it's first long ride.

The ride formed at Johnson Square, the heart of the city. The ride had been advertised in Connect as well as The Savannah Morning News. The local media was informed of the ride, and W??? showed up to talk to the founders of the group and film the car in action.

The crew waited for any last-minute riders to show up. There were no surprise attendants; everyone who showed was a member or friend of a member of Car Free Savannah.

The Oxygen Fueled Car led the pack through the city. They followed a routre that Tim had designed and had listed in the paper. This route took the ride around Forsyth Park. On Drayton Street, Stephen and Kevin got thwe O2FC going 17 miles per hour.
